A Simple Affair

The brief for this café project in Port Melbourne was 'to add an abundance of greenery'. To achieve this, we moved the servery area to the centre of the huge industrial space to create a focal point and a 'pergola' for the hanging of pot plants. These we juxtaposed with custom light fittings playfully designed out of the same terracotta pots turned upside down. Using different types of seating areas, we created intimacy within the voluminous space, whilst working with raw industrial materials which reflected the warehouse nature of the site.
